Went to Palace last night and had a wonderful meal. It was obvious that most of us were new to Korean food (I was the only Oriental in a group of nine), and the husband came over to explain how the menu worked, and which dishes were favourites among his clientele.

I really enjoyed the traditional Korean fried noodles and the chilled glass noodles. The noodles were nice and springy and incredibly smooth. I swear they just slid down my throat the moment I put them in my mouth. The sliced beef ribs in soya sauce was amazing, and easily the best beef I'd eaten in a while. The seafood and kimchi pancakes were a big hit with my group as well.

All in all, the bill came up to £27 per person including service and three (alcoholic) drinks per person. I highly recommend the plum wine which I reckon was pretty good value for money at £7 for a 375 ml bottle.

We ordered just a little too much, and probably could have done with two less 'starters' but, nevertheless, a fun night out even if my hair and clothes smelt strongly of kimchi after that.

Great little Korean restaurant we went to on nye.... About 20 quid pp inc beer so not bad. Food was great, tasty and the service was informative.

Small place, can imagine it getting filled quickly and very aromatic. Ask the waitress what to order of stuck ... Go as experimental as possible.

    Great place check it out!

It really breaks my heart.  I heard they've changed owners and haven't been back in a while.  It just isn't the same!  This place used to always bustle with customers but now it's stark empty.  The menu has remained the same but it doesn't have the same "magic" as it used to.  Oh well, onwards and upwards - time to find the next best thing.

I love Palace in New Malden. it's the 2nd time I've been there now and I can confirm : it totally kicks butt!

They have a medium sized menu but it's full of the most delicious looking food. I have never been to Korea but the Palace really does feel like a really authentic Korean restaurant.

We ordered the Squid and Pork * (I forget what it was called, sorry, not a good review technique I know!!), which is a hot plate/pot for 2-3 people. They bring a grill to your table on which they place this huge dish of uncooked Squid and thinly sliced pork with 3 types of mushrooms including the yummy Enoki's, and it's all in a lovely chilli sauce.

They also have a new on table bbq set up which wasn't there the last time I went and I think they are just growing the bbq menu.

The staff are lovely and so sweet and helpful. You get 5 free salad/starter dishes and it's cheap as chips. Our hot pot (which was too big to finish), 1 rice and 2 beers came to £26.50.

The only downfall is the ambience, it's more like a cafe that a restaurant so do not come here if you are planning to propose.
